Bridging Bowl in Walnut, 14 strings
Bridging Bowls have a ‘colour of sound’ that rises like a harmonic haze over the notes from the overtones of interactions in other strings. The ethereal nature of this sound adds an orchestral sense to any arpeggio of notes, scale or ‘run.’ Playing a Bridging Bowl thus becomes more an exercise in rhythm than in music with the thirds and fifths, music’s natural harmonics, laid out under each hand by the string pattern.
This 14 string edition in Walnut, has an extra warmth from the nature of the wood. Made in Austria by the first maker to graduate from Tobias’s training it is a fine example of this type of bowl.
